Faith Presbyterian Community Garden

Faith Presbyterian Community Garden

We at Faith PCA Myrtle Beach are happy to announce the formation of a community garden on our 79th St. property. We look forward to this garden serving as a visible symbol of the blessings of God and His salvation through Jesus Christ.

There are three primary ways in which the community garden will reflect God’s love and care for his people:

  1. Some of the bounty from this garden will be used to feed those in need in the Myrtle Beach community. Members of the church and the community who tend individual garden plots will share the produce and bless those who may not have ready access to healthy food.
  2. The juxtaposition of the garden on church property reflects the truth that, just as we are to care for our bodies by filling it with the right fuel — good food in appropriate amounts — we are to fill our minds with the correct fuel, too — the truth of God. As J.I. Packer says, “As rational persons, we were made to bear God’s moral image — that is, our souls were made to “run” on the practice of worship, law-keeping, truthfulness, honesty, discipline, self-control, and service to God and our fellows.”
  3. A garden displays in very vivid fashion the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and demonstrates the new life that his sacrifice ushers in. A garden begins with the planting of a seed, which dies, is buried, then emerges with a new body in glorious form.

Throughout the spring and summer there will be events held in conjunction with the community garden. Please contact Sybil Lee at or Phyllis Beal at for more information.
