Jacob’s blessing, finished — Gen. 49:22-33 to Gen. 50:1-14
The last verses of chapter 49 and first verses of chapter 50 describe four significant events at the end of Jacob’s life.
The first two events are Jacob’s blessing of his youngest sons, the sons of Rachel. This represents the completion of his great blessing to what will become the twelve tribes of Israel; these are the prophesies over the last two, Joseph and Benjamin.
The third event described here is the preparation for Jacob’s burial in Canaan, while the fourth is Jacob’s death and its significance to the Egyptians.
Listen to Pastor Ted as he draws these four events together in an evaluation of the life of Jacob.
